Hallé Youth Orchestra
Established in 2002 to provide the young people aged 13-19 years of the North West with exceptional and challenging orchestral experiences, the Hallé Youth Orchestra tackles some of the most difficult works in the symphonic repertoire, often not accessible to those outside of the specialist music system.
Every year we embark on a foreign tour or UK based residential course and tour, in the past visiting Cardiff, Edinburgh, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Belgium and Italy. These exhilarating tours give our members unique experiences and lasting memories, whilst showcasing the talent of our Youth Orchestra.
Members work with their young and dynamic Music Director, Andrew Gourlay, who is also the Hallé Assistant Conductor, and members of the Hallé Orchestra and their Music Director Sir Mark Elder C.B.E.
