Christmas Crackers

Christmas Crackers displays the diverse talents of its dancers as they perform favourite excerpts from the company’s repertoire as well as the premiere of “Dancing on the Keys” to the music of Claude Bollin, choreographed by Terence Etheridge.

Guest artists Elena Glurdijze and Arionel Vargas (senior principals of Englsih National Ballet) make a welcome return to perform the stunning and famous Black Swan pas de deux from Swan Lake and will also join the company’s dancers in The Sleeping Beauty as Princess Aurora and her Prince. The ballet tells the story of the christening of the little Princess Aurora and of the curse placed upon her by the wicked fairy, Carabosse. The Lilac Fairy averts tragedy by casting a spell upon the Princess. She sleeps for 100 years and is then awakened by a Prince. Their wedding is celebrated by her family and friends including characters from other fairy tales.
