The Feathered Ogre (music by Russell Hepplewhite) is a brand new retelling of a classic Italian folk tale for children aged 4-7, performed by 5 players and 3 singers. The story tells of an ailing king whose illness can be cured only by the application of a feather from the man-eating ogre in the mountains. When a young man finally volunteers for the task everyone else also wants a feather…
The Feathered Ogre is highly interactive, and follows the success of ETO’s other productions for younger children, including Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk and The Starry Welkin. Fast, imaginative storytelling and intriguing design will engage with audiences, and the piece is complemented with resources for schools.
