Access

One of Hall for Cornwall’s aims is to greatly improve accessibility for the benefit of all our patrons. We want to make the most of your visit and offer a variety of performances that can be enjoyed, whatever your access needs. These include:

Signed and Captioned Performances - for people with hearing impairments. These normally take place on Thursday evening performances.
Assisted Listening - equipment can be collected from the Welcome Point in the downstairs bar, from 45 minutes before a performance. It is advisable to reserve equipment with Box Office at time of booking.
Touch Tours - explore the set, props and costumes before a show, in the company of performers and crew. Designed for the visually impaired, a Touch Tour typically takes place before a Saturday matinee performance.
Audio Description – for the visually impaired, headsets are provided for a live verbal commentary describing sets, costumes, props, actors’ facial expressions and body language, complementing dialogue and music. The Audio Description usually takes place during Saturday matinee performances.
Relaxed Performances - welcoming those on the autism spectrum, learning disability, Down’s Syndrome, or a sensory or communication disorder. There are no loud bangs, lights will be on low in the auditorium with a relaxed attitude to noise and movement.
Wheelchair Users -  7 wheelchair spaces are available, please call the Box Office directly to book.

Carers Scheme

Last November, we introduced an Essential Companion Scheme as a commitment to further extending access for all. This membership scheme is open for customers who require an essential companion or care to assist them with mobility or guidance, including half price seats for the member and their companion.  Since its soft launch, we’ve taken on board customer feedback and have been working alongside producers and promoters to ensure the scheme can be offered across all shows.  We are pleased to confirm that all shows (except for the odd local hire) within our Summer 2017 season are now included.

For further information and discuss eligibility, please call the Box Office on 01872 262466.
