PROGRAMMER

Part time (0.6 fte), permanent, circa £28,000 pro rata pa depending on experience.

Summary

Curates and negotiates and a broad variety of first class shows and entertainment for our main stage programme of events.  Drives audience engagement and our core business, through canny deal-making and flair.

We’re opening a new theatre in the heart of Truro.  Full of intriguing spaces and steeped in history, our new building will enchant and inspire 300,000 people a year.

While the theatre is closed for the re-build our office is based in central Truro in a ground floor, open plan space with good access.  We operate a clean desk policy and are working towards being paperless and using agile working processes.  As an organisation we strive to embrace the tools of our modern world and as a matter of course, use web-conferencing and cloud-based apps to enable more efficient workflows, open communications and remote working options.

What you’ll be doing

You will be ensuring that our audiences have outstanding and entertaining experiences through the consistent quality of our shows.

Spending time and energy making sure the details are right; systems are updated; and that everyone knows what they are.

Be open to collaboration with a range of colleagues on companywide programming strategies.

Constantly driving to make the programme the best it can be.

Always looking to reach our audiences, wherever they are, to build resilience for our charity.

Who we’re looking for

Experience of programming touring venues

A collaborative approach to achieving common goals

The ability to thrive in the dynamic environment of theatre programming and event management

Adept at keeping lot of balls in the air along with negotiating the best deals possible

High standards of customer service and attention to detail

Ability to anticipate business needs and implement creative solutions

Ability to lead by example, and inspire and motivate others- take great satisfaction from being busy and productive

BUSINESS SUPPORT COORDINATOR

Full time, permanent, circa £25,000 pa depending on experience. 

Part time and/or flexible working will be considered for the right person.

Summary

HFC is a busy arts organisation where there’s always is a lot going on - you can guarantee that no day is the same, so you’ll have to love variety.  As well as supporting day to day operations, you’ll have the chance to support a variety of projects.  Working within the appropriate procedures, in a discreet and confidential manner, you will assist with the delivery of the effective operation of the CEO’s office. This role will provide an efficient, effective and flexible business support service.  Responsibilities include assisting with internal and external communications, minute taking, record keeping, general administration and data tracking. You’ll champion best practice when it comes to business support and will always be looking at how you can offer help where needed.

What you’ll be doing

Known for your attention to detail and can-do attitude, you’ll help provide a comprehensive administration service to the CEO & Creative Director.  As well as managing his diary and movements, you’ll be comfortable using a variety of IT packages to help create reports, keep accurate records, and write timely and accurate internal/external communications. In essence you’ll assist with the delivery of an effective business support function.

Who we’re looking for

Proactive, highly motivated, and organised individual who is able to work effectively with minimal supervision, happy on days when you are on your own staffing the office.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

High level of integrity, supporting the Leadership Team with confidential and sensitive data.

Professional and warm communication style, able to manage expectations and deal with enquiries with clarity, humour and patience.

Proficient in MS Office including SharePoint.

Highly organised and able to multi-task with the ability to prioritise own workload and see tasks through to completion.

Previous experience within an administration background.

Skilled information finder, can use initiative to find solution.

CULTURAL COMPACT COORDINATOR, Truro Cultural Partnership (Hosted by Hall For Cornwall)

1-year fixed term contract, part time 0.5 FTE.  Start date asap. 

£30,000 per annum, pro rata

The Opportunity

Are you interested in the cultural life of Truro? Do you have the skills and creative flair to work with organisations, artists, and the community to improve how things happen? The cultural partners in Truro have come together to form a new partnership. With initial funding from Arts Council England and Cornwall Council we are now in a position to recruit a co-ordinator to support our joint work. You will be based and line managed by Hall for Cornwall but will working across a range of cultural organisations and out and about on a regular basis. We are looking for a self-reliant, driven individual who has great people and organisational skills who can imagine new projects and make things happen.
