Preparing Young People for Tomorrow's World

Providing creative opportunities for young people and helping them build the connections and self belief to succeed today and tomorrow is our lifeblood.

Our aim over the next 18 months is to double the size of our Youth Theatre and Dance Companies to ensure we generate more avenues into the creative industries. We recently launched an All Boys Dance Group. We're about to launch a Musical Theatre one. We know we can make a difference and impact kids' futures. But we won't tell you that, we'll let Josh, a recent HFC Youth Theatre alumni, tell you instead...

'I was nine years old when I joined Hall For Cornwall Youth Theatre - painfully shy with any mention of public performance filling me with fear. Opportunities can be limited here and now, aged 19 and recently accepted with a place at Bristol Old Vic Drama School, I can only thank Hall For Cornwall for launching me into the world and supporting and encouraging my journey'

This year alone, our HFC Youth Theatre and Dance Companies have performed all over the county from fairgrounds to beaches, to London's Rambert dance studios, Theatre Royal Plymouth and a pop-up performance at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

HFC Youth Theatre

We currently have three groups running Seniors (aged 14+), Intermediates (aged 12 to 14) and Juniors (aged 6 to 11). Weekly training sessions take place every Saturday across the year in three terms. The purpose of the groups are to build skills and confidence in ensemble theatre and devise and develop shows that tour and perform all over Cornwall.

Previous members have gone on to study at RADA, Central, ALRA, NYT, Falmouth University and Bristol Old Vic Theatre school to name but a few - we have a growing alumni of success stories. Get inspired by reading here about Josh and Neds' recent success in gaining places at prestigous drama and dance schools.
