Quick Watch - A powerful rendition of Michael Jackson's I'll Be There, performed by the cast of Thriller for Black Lives Matter
Whats On Stage have done a fantastic job at compiling a comprehensive list of resources available to allow us all to educate ourselves and our children about race. "A wave of vital protests and campaigns have occurred over the last week and, while this energy has been incredible, we want to make sure that this isn't a passing moment and instead the beginning of a wider change."
Broadway Sessions presented a digital Black Lives Matter fundraising concert on June 4th. This celebration of Black Theatre Artists featured Black performers sharing not only songs, but their thoughts on anti racism, police brutality and how others may get involved to affect much needed change.
Quick Watch - A beautiful version of the Annie classic 'Tomorrow' sung by West End and Broadway star Marisha Wallace. All proceeds from streaming and downloads of the song go to The MAD Trust (UK) and Broadway Cares (USA). The video features many stars of the stage and screen including Katharine McPhee, Lea Salonga, Leslie Odom Jr, Ledisi, Beverly Knight, Nina West and Kerry Ellis and more joining in virtually from their homes.
Last week we shared Peter Pan the Musical and now we are excited to see that the next show to be streamed on 'The Shows Must Go On' Youtube channel will be The Wiz: Live! Available from 7pm on Friday 12th June for 48 hours only. Don't miss it!

We love this brilliant video made by the cast of Matthew Bourne's The Red Shoes from their homes during lockdown. Unfortunately they UK tour was unable to continue due to the COVID19 pandemic and so the Red Shoes company decided to say one final farewell, with a flourish! Take 10 minutes to watch this wonderfully entertaining video.

From shadow puppet shows in Bologna, to mass singing in Spain, people are harnessing the power of creativity and bringing connection, hope, and moments of joy to people stuck inside, all from their windows. To support our community in the coming weeks, we invite you to look through our Windows to the World. We’ll be setting you some bonkers and brilliant creative challenges over the next few weeks. From puppet making to poetry, one of Kneehigh’s talented team will demonstrate a creative skill and set you a challenge at 9am on our YouTube channel." Sounds like fun!
A seven-day online festival in partnership with Waterstones from 8 - 14 June for families to celebrate the power of imagination and Puffin's 80th birthday. Join authors, illustrators and real Puffins for a week of events, travel through Puffin’s 80 year history and get oodles of ideas to keep children dreaming after screen-time. Watch with your kids, twice a day at 10.30am and 3.30pm for a 15 - 20-minute video which will include a creative activity that you can try at home. The festival will culminate in a live weekend extravaganza at 11am on 13 and 14 June.

We want you, our audience to use this time to remember, share and celebrate your marvellous moments in our auditorium, tell us your stories and memories of your favourite shows- and if you can find photos, programmes, tickets (if like us you are cleaning out draws and your attic!) then send us those too, so we can pop them in our new online collection. Hall For Cornwall Associate Artist, writer and performer Callum Mitchell has penned a new work as part of our ‘Revealing City Hall’ National Lottery Heritage Fund programme to help us get our thinking caps on.
