Theatre & Film

o-region works across theatre and film telling stories that raise smiles, punch guts, broaden horizons and affirm lives. Working class, artist-led and rooted in our native Cornwall, we produce work for local, national and international audiences and provide talent development and showcasing opportunities for all ages and backgrounds.

Formed in 2002, o-region is a multi-faceted production company whose work spans theatre, film and events.

The company has produced and toured original theatre work across small scale and rural venues: Laughing Gas by Nick Darke / Carl Grose; Superstition Mountain by Carl Grose; One Darke Night; in schools Stay Brave Brian Gravy; at midscale FUP (in collaboration with Kneehigh); in site specific venues HIRETH (in collaboration with Palores Productions).

In film they have produced feature length and short form films including The Midnight Drives by Mark Jenkin, Weekend Retreat and Brown Willy by Brett Harvey.  Recently, they have completed their latest film LONG WAY BACK by Brett Harvey (in collaboration with Falmouth University), which is set for festival / general release in 2021.

o-region also pioneered and curate the regular FILM CHALLENGE in collaboration with Falmouth University whereby they encourage filmmakers to create their own work in response to a theme and set length (60 seconds).  The most recent challenge in 2020 garnered 618 entries from 75 different countries.

o-region is currently developing a slate of Theatre and Film projects for future production.

The company is steered by Artistic Director Simon Harvey supported by long term collaborators Brett Harvey (Filmmaker) and Oliver Berry (Writer / Graphic Designer). We have a network of regular collaborators (Performers, Musical Directors, Writers, Filmmakers, Graphic Artists) and a strong commitment to supporting new talent.
