Sapphire’s class is a high-energy session rooted in Graham and Cunningham techniques, with a strong emphasis on joy, expression, and connection. We’ll begin with shorter technical phrases that focus on building strength, alignment, and dynamics, while exploring the unique ways we each express and experience movement. As the class progresses, these phrases will evolve into longer sequences and repertoire, allowing us to deepen both individual expression and collective connection. This class is an exploration of how technique can be a tool for playful discovery, emotional expression, and ways to reconnect to the pure joy of movement.
Sapphire is a freelance dancer, choreographer and facilitator based in Cornwall. She trained at Rambert School and for the past 5 years has been working with a variety of companies and projects including New Adventures, BBC, Yorke Dance Project, TRP and HfC. Her teaching focuses on her extensive training in Graham, Cunningham and release techniques and is inspired by New Adventures’ methodologies of expression, connection, joy and creativity.
