On Wed 21 May, 9.30am – 3.30pm, we’re inviting teachers and professionals working with children aged 5–7 to come along to Hall for Cornwall and experience Speech Bubbles first-hand. The morning delivers a dance and movement workshop, and the afternoon is led by Speech Bubbles founder Adam Annand. Join us for a half or full day.

Morning Session

9.30am – 12pm

Led by Hall for Cornwall’s Get Creative, this workshop uses dance and movement to explore literacy. Discover fun and accessible ways to use dance and movement to bring literacy to life in your classroom.

In this session we will use a popular children’s book to playfully examine how you could use the story as a jumping off point to dance, explore music, role play, develop language and communication skills and emotional literacy with the children you work with. The sessions will be co-facilitated by Jo Knuckey from the National Literacy Trust, who was previously a primary headteacher, and Hall for Cornwall’s Sally Knight, a dance and theatre specialist with 20 years’ experience working with primary aged children.

Not a dancer? No need to worry – join in as much or little as you like! All practical ideas are designed to be engaging and accessible for all.

Afternoon Session

Drama Tools for a Communication Friendly Classroom
12.45pm – 3.15pm

Led by Speech Bubbles Founder and Director Adam Annand, this practical session offers drama-based strategies to support speech, language, and communication needs. The workshop will provide effective strategies and resources in the classroom and ideas to support children with speech, language and communication needs.
