Hall for Cornwall Backs Show
Headed for Edinburgh Fringe

This summer, Hall for Cornwall is backing a powerful new production heading to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe – and we're throwing open the doors for two events – a workshop and a performance - in Cornwall before the show lands with audiences at one of the world’s biggest theatre festivals.

You & Me (and Whoever Comes Next) is a new play written by disabled actor and activist Keron Day, alongside former care worker Alex Howarth and performer Helen Chong. Inspired by Keron's own life, the piece explores the human connection between a disabled person and their personal assistant through a compelling and uplifting story about the people who show up for us when we need them most. 

Keron Day is a Cornish performer, writer and activist known for Kirkmoore (BBC) and Sex Education (Netflix).  Alex Howarth was named one of The Guardian’s 10 Stage Sensations, and the first director in history to have work performed at the United Nations. 

The show is building momentum fast and has already landed the prestigious Mary Dick Award, ahead of its Edinburgh Fringe run.

Why Are We Supporting This Production? 

Our involvement began through Husa, Hall for Cornwall's artist development programme. Keron has been part of the Husa community since 2024, and we've been exploring ways to support his artistic journey ever since.  

You & Me (and Whoever Comes Next) is a natural fit for HfC, with a top-notch team creating new work in Cornwall, and reminds us that theatre is here to spark conversations and change the way we see the world.

Ever wondered how a new play comes to life? 

This free workshop offers a chance to hear directly from writers Keron Day and Alex Howarth about the making of You & Me (and Whoever Comes Next). They'll explore how the show developed from initial ideas into a production, and answer questions about writing, collaboration and theatre-making.  

Participants will also take part in a practical devising exercise, working together to develop the plot of their own piece .  

A perfect event for emerging artists, aspiring writers and anyone curious about how theatre gets made.

Before the company takes the show to Summerhall at the Edinburgh Fringe, audiences in Cornwall have the opportunity to experience a work-in-progress preview.  

Audiences will be among the first to experience the production and help shape its continuing journey before its world premiere at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. 

The Creation Works in Par share our belief that arts and culture is for everybody.
