Our Auditorium
The auditorium, called Cornwall Playhouse, is a beautiful, open space on 3 tiered levels. It will be home to our core stage programme and entertainment offering.
Our auditorium Cornwall Playhouse has three levels:
Stalls with 635 seats including 11 wheelchair positions, plus 35 standing positions
Circle with 294 seats including 2 wheelchair positions, plus 48 rester and standing positions
Balcony with 325 seats and 16 rester positions
There are a range of ticket prices and seats in the new auditorium to suit all tastes and budgets. We’re committed to ensuring as many people as possible can have access to live performance and for the majority of performances on our stage, ticket prices will start from £15, with over 200 tickets for each of those performances at £26.00 or under.
The Ope Way
The Ope Way is our name for the passageway at the back of the auditorium, running between either side of our building. It’s a special nod to the opes of Cornwall – tiny openings between tightly-packed buildings often found in Cornish fishing and mining communities.
Whether you’re passing through from Boscawen Street to Lemon Quay, want to have a nose after a coffee in our Green Room Café, or just fancy soaking up the atmosphere of our Cornwall Playhouse auditorium for a while, check out the timings listed above for when you can access. During opening hours our dedicated Heritage volunteers will be around to share stories and secrets with you, if you’ve got 5 minutes to spare. It’s all part of honouring the history of our beautiful building and keeping its legacy alive.
