Katie’s class begins with a sweaty, continuous guided improvisation, awakening our energy, creativity and skill. We will practice tuning-in to ourselves as individuals to discover the essence of how we love to move, whilst also developing our awareness of and sensitivity to the others in the space, so we can explore dancing together as a group. These ideas will continue through the second half of class as we discover how we can approach set material and “technique” with the same freedom, playfulness, and aliveness we experience when improvising, both collectively and individually.
