Kiss Me, Kate is a musical written by Bella and Samuel Spewack with music by Cole Porter. It centres on the production of a musical version of Shakespear’s The Taming of the Shrew and follows the on and off-stage conflict between the actors. It premiered in 1948, running for more than 1,000 shows on Broadway. The musical was first revived in London in 1970 and then again in 1987.
