How does theatre persist at a time of crisis?
Since the start of the Russian war against Ukraine in 2014 and full scale invasion in 2022, artists have continued to work. In Ukraine, theatre has resonated on home soil and across European stages, with new creative forms proving vital for communities in search of hope, resistance and justice.
The evening brings together Cornwall-based director Agneiszka Blonska (Hall for Cornwall Alumni Associate Artist), and leading Ukrainian practitioners Anastasiia Kosodii, Liuba Ilnytska, Nina Khyzna, and Olena Apchel to discuss working realities, strategies and the art they are creating now.
Their stories will be brought to life through live readings of Kosodii’s work by Cornish artists, alongside video presentations of Nafta Theatre’s latest productions, showcasing the powerful theatre being forged in Ukraine today.
Don’t miss this rare opportunity to hear how Agnieszka Blonska and her invited guests have fostered long-standing connections across the last decade.
